#Zoom : A new call for tenders for Black Star, looking for a buyer

  • 16 mars 2026

Black Star, a company specialising in tyre production and retreading (i.e. reconditioning), continues to look for buyers as part of its safeguarding proceedings. This is the context in which the firm AJC, represented by Mr. Nicolas Torrano, has launched another call for tender, with a deadline for offers set at 12 p.m. on April 8, 2026.

Black Star is a French company specialising in the production and sale of re-treaded tyres for use by light-duty, utility and 4-wheel drive vehicles.  Located in the Loire and Pas-de-Calais regions, for a number of years the company has adopted a responsible approach to business based on the principles of the circular economy and waste reduction.

Its core business: re-treading tyres

Re-treading consists of giving a new lease of life to a solid tyre carcass by replacing the tread surface and sidewall with new material, in accordance with rigorous, standardized industrial processes.

By making re-trading its core business, Black Star is taking a responsible industrial approach, which is based on re-using still-viable tyre carcasses. By reducing the use of new raw materials and waste production, the company is contributing to reducing the carbon footprint of tyres, while at the same time meeting the quality and safety requirements imposed by the market.

A production “Made in France” and an extended catalogue

Tyre production and reconditioning are carried out on industrial sites in France, located in Béthune (62), with 122 employees, and Saint-Pierre-de-Bœuf (42), with 26 employees. The company also has a structured network of re-sellers and mounting points across France.

With a catalogue containing more than 300 product references, covering a wide range of needs for private and business customers, in 2025 Black Star generated turnover of 14.7 M€.

Despite this level of activity the company has been under pressure, notably facing difficulties with competition from Asia. In order to anticipate these challenges and secure its continued business, Black Star sought protection from the Commercial Court of Arras, which opened safeguarding proceedings on its behalf by decision of January 30, 2026.

It is in this context that the company Black Star is looking for a buyer capable of ensuring the continuity and development of its business. The receiver in charge, AJC (Nicolas Torrano), has launched a call for tender, with a deadline set at 12 p.m. on Wednesday April 8, 2026.

          • 148 employees
